Man cuts off his genitals in Taraba State after his wife left him.Says he can’t cope

A man cut off his genital after finding it unbearable to cope with separation from his wife. 39 year-old Orsian Yusuf of Sabon gari Jalingo in Taraba State reportedly said he decided to cut off his genital because of persistent restlessness and sleepless nights occasioned by his wife’s departure and non-accessibility to his four year-old daughter.

He also laments that he has not been able to get along with other women, our correspondent says. Yusuf is currently receiving treatment at the Federal Medical Centre Jalingo. Speaking on the incident, Dr. Divine Njadze of the medical centre said it was a total removal of the penis, adding that blood no longer flows through the area.

The doctor maintained that the organ was completely lost and cannot be replaced, adding that Yusuf might either be suffering from a psychiatric problem or may have carried out the act under the influence of alcohol or hard drugs.
