Pastor Bakare berates Jonathan over Christmas cow gift

of Save Nigeria Group and a frontline critic of the Jonathan’s administration, Pastor Tunde Bakare has berated the presidency for giving him a cow as  Christmas gift.

The presiding pastor of the Latter Rain Church makes mockery of the gift while addressing his congregation on Sunday, noting that he did not solicit for the cow and would have returned it but for the persuasion from the presidency.

He added that the cost of the cow would have been inflated to the gain of the cronies of the president and that he will not be surprise if an elephant is given out by the presidency, insinuating that it amount to a waste of resources, misplaced priorities and a testament that the country has ‘low men’ in high places.

“I had a cow from the Presidency. I didn’t ask for it. They dropped it at the Save Nigeria Group office,” he said. He queried, “Is it cow that we need? If you check their books, one cow could have been bought for $5,000. The rest of the money is pocketed. They prevailed on me not to return it. Thanks for the cow, but no thanks”.

He joked that his revelation might deny him a gift from President Goodluck Jonathan in 2014, “that means no cow for me next year (laughs). But we will have good roads, schools etc.We are the cause of our problems. We feel big when Mr President sends us hampers; some go to them for contracts”.
He claimed that he will also give out the cow while counseling the presidency to channel such resources to build roads, hospitals and provide other social amenities for the masses.

Holy War : Retired Catholic Archbishop of Lagos fires back at Chris Okotie

A retired Catholic Archbishop of Lagos, Cardinal Anthony Okogie, has warned the Pastor of the Household of God Church International, Chris Okotie, against talking out of ignorance or else he will be digraced.

The cardinal was reacting to the Okotie’s recent comment that “all Catholics will go to hell” in an interview with punch correspondent.

Okotie, while criticising the Catholic Church in a sermon, had said the church was “a counterfeit church set up by Satan.” He also said Catholics “bow to idols and crucify Jesus every Sunday when they eat bread claiming they are eating Jesus’ body.”

Describing Catholic as “a counterfeit church set up by Satan,” Okotie said. “They (Catholics) are not Christians and have never been. They don’t know Jesus. They believe that when they eat bread on Sundays, they are eating the body of Jesus. It’s ritual,” he added.

Okogie, however, said it was wrong for the 55-year-old pastor to speak on what he knew little or nothing about.

He said, “It is always good to talk on what you know, not on what you do not know. The problem we have today is that a lot of people put their mouth in what does not concern them because they want people to know that they too are there; that they can be reckoned with.

“I don’t think that is the way to do things, no. I think the best thing is to always put your mouth where God puts it, if you don’t want to be disgraced.”

Okotie, who had divorced two wives, recently bought a 2014 Bespoke Edition of Rolls Royce Coupeto worth N120m to mark his 30 years as born-again Christian and 27 years as a pastor.

One of his aides said he had earlier spent N33m on a Range Rover Autobiography to mark a milestone of his ministry.

10 Things Men Find Unattractive in Women but Probably Won’t Tell You – Charles Novia

2014 is here already, so ladies if you are in this category; please change so that your BF can finally put a ring on it,  according to Charles Novia .

1. Excessively Drunk Women – When I was a boy I thought a group of drunk women was the move. When I go to the club now and see a chick throwing up in the bathroom, I get repulsed. Who’s mans is this?!

2. All the way turned up – Why I can hear you in a club on any night is a problem. It’s loud, there’s loud music, and still I can hear your voice shrieking over the speakers. Or what about those women who can’t control their volume when their drunk and try and talk in your ear but they’re screaming?

3. Negative Women – These women think everything is wack. “How about this lovely 80 degree weather today?” “This is wack, why these girls think it’s ok to be wearing their open toes?!”

4. Impatience – They hate waiting. They are the type to tell you to let them know when you have arrived at the restaurant so they can leave their house. They have cavities on each side of their mouth from sucking their teeth so much.

5. Teen Spirit Women: Waiting to be entertained – These are the ones who are rimming the club waiting for the party to jump off. They bring nothing to the party, but will call it wack because it didn’t turn into a bashment. Although, they didn’t come to dance anyway.

6. Random hair cuts or attempts to go natural – Have you ever seen that look a man has when he’s been caught cheating? It is NOTHING compared to meeting up with his boo and she decided to cut all her hair off. Your hair was down to the middle of your back yesterday, but now you sporting a Kobe fro. We will not be partying like it’s 1999 boo.

7. Liars – You can just tell this woman is lying. And often times it’s about something she doesn’t have to lie about. She got a hating friend who tells you all her business, especially about how she buys fake designer shoes. And you witness her blacking on some dude; “My shoes cost more than your whole outfit, negro!” #DIQUE.

8. Ms. Know It All – I don’t even have words to describe this one because she probably wants to describe it herself. When you told her that eating too much salmon could cause mercury poisoning, she even brought her grandmother into it, “My grandmother ate salmon everyday and she lived to be 106!” Seriously, this woman can’t take a piece of advice or fact that she didn’t come up with to save her life.

9. Attention Hordes – These women are always showing out looking for a reaction in the building. She usually has the attention of most of the guys, but if there’s one focusing on one of her friends, she makes it a point to hook that guy too. “Oh you got a nice chest. Do you work out?” Meanwhile, dude ain’t got a six-pack, he got a loaf of bread and he’s drinking a 40.

10. Women who think they can do WHATEVER they want – These are the women screaming at the promoter outside the club. These are the women who will break things in your house because they are having a temper tantrum. These are the women who say things like, “And I will tell him to do it, and he will do that ish.” These are the women who end up at the Chesapeake Rest Area because their man didn’t make it out of Maryland before he put her out the Range.

OJB calls out D'banj in new intervew, says celebs used his donation as competition

During an interview with Inspiration FM's Gloria Maduka post surgery, veteran music producer OJB Jezreel addressed controversy surrounding his donations, said celebs used it as competition and calls out Dbanj. Here's why he's unhappy with D'banj. During his fund raiser many months back, there were rumours that D'banj gave his former music producer N7m, a report that D'banj didn't deny. OJB says D'banj didn't give him a dime and was upset that he didn't try to set the record straight

"The most disappointing one for me is D'banj because he passed through my hands, he was trained under my tutelage. That is offensive. I don't care if you're with Kanye West, you can't forget your root. I won't call anybody else's name but I will call his because it hurts. His own hurts very deep. And he never tried to reach out to me. It's not like we parted on fighting terms.  He told me he had to go to London and he went. And when he came back it was Don Jazzy, and I said OK, that's fine.

And what he did worked and I'm very proud of him, the love I had for him, that's why it hurts more. He should have come out to say no, I don't know why you people are saying all this, I didn't give OJB N7million, maybe a part of him felt embarrassed because at the end of the day, really, are you not supposed to do something?" OJB says during the interview
He also talked about how people used his fund raiser as competition and once again addresses the bounced cheques. Continue....

"When P-Square gave me N5million cheque, everybody started treating it as a competition. They were like, they brought N5m, I want to show that I can do more, or equal it. So they will come to my house, some will drop N2m, N1m, you say thank you, they take pictures and go away. Then you drop the cheque in your account and you see that almost N4/5million is being returned back to you that it didn't clear. You call them and tell them and they tell you they are coming but they haven't picked the cheques till now.

"The shocking ones are not even the bounced cheques. It's the ones that when they are coming to meet you in the house to give you money, they come with a whole camera crew. Then they will say I'm donating one million naira to you and the cameras start recording and maybe the guy's tape stops, and he says let's take that again (Laughs).

"There were people in my dialysis that I gave N100k each to pay for their dialysis, we didn't publicize it, we didn't take photos with them, because I felt that was unnecessary."

[MUST READ] : Open Letter To The Headies

Dear headies 2013 organizers,

Let me start by saying i am not just disappointed in you but u have just proved to us that Nigeria is not getting better any time soon. you have been manipulated by a greedy and hopeless telecommunications company (mtn) because they sponsored your event and you forgot the ultimate rule that awards are meant to be impartial and should be decided by the general public especially when u told us to vote. you distributed the awards among 4 mtn ambassadors (iyanya, davido, praiz, and kcee) and just 1 glo ambassador won (waje). Is that not politics or is it coincidence? Now let us analyze.

The headies 2013 was a flop, your stage was shaped like a models runway, the choreographers just lacked ideas and didn’t interpret the music, i have seen a better performance from Nigeria’s got talent. What was the gulder ultimate search theme song that was being played throughout the event? Who on earth uses the mavin slaves -dr shit and tiwa gabbage as presenters of an event? Oh I forgot, the awards lacked credibility and substance. Why did majority of the winners come from backstage, instead of coming from the crowd like it should be? I watched nickelodeon kids choice awards this year and it is far better than the over hyped headies which was not properly planned and hurriedly done #shame

Can you explain to us how olamide won best rap album? olamide has commercialized rap, we cannot tell if he is a rapper or a singer. As far as i am concerned, he is just an entertainer like dbanj. so where does vector, phyno, reminisce, ice prince and illbliss who represent real hip hop/rap stand? Don’t forget that there is a big difference between commercial rap and real rap. all he sings about is remind us that he is from the street but to be sincere terry g is more street than olamide and terry is not even a rapper #justsaying
How can harry song win most mtn most downloaded caller tune song for rip Mandela? when did Mandela die and do u want to compare that dead song with other club bangers in the same category? Simple, it is because harrysong is a label mate to your mtn ambassador (kcee).

In my opinion Jaywon, waje,2 face, Clarence peters , Blackmagic and Davido deserved there awards. how can wizkid not win any  award? Someone who has been the most consistent and sought after this year. i am sure wizkid declined an interview from you that’s why he didn't win. in fact wizzy should be the artiste of the year. Why did dbanj, burnaboy, wandecoal, psquare, flavour not win anything? oh i know why, it is because they are Glo ambassadors.

Now explain to me why Sean tizzle won the next rated award and he was in the same category as burna boy who is obviously more relevant and talented. We all know Sean tizzle has the same old boring style and we can always predict his next song. Phyno too deserved the next rated award and how on planet earth did d-tunes win producer of the year? Someone who recycled 1 beat 5 times (kukere, your waist, mama eh,lenu by spicy, kilogbe). so where does ace producer del b that produced the national anthem limpopo stand? You are all insane!!!!!!

Infact, headies, mtn and Pdp should merge and start a new political party for the upcoming election in 2015. it should be named mhdp( mtn headies democratic party). we all know exactly what happened, mtn agreed to sponsor your event and they gave you the list of who should win. our votes did not count; do you think we are blind and foolish like yourself? Instead of your greedy mtn sponsors to improve their network, reduce tariffs and contribute to the growth of the nation, they will be sending me sms on how they gave free ipad and mp3 to those who sent a sms to a code. They spend all their time looking for how to extort customers and scam us with their ridiculous offers (free airplane and a trip to the moon)

I am sorry to say sir but if u continues this way your company will fold up and collapse because you are not an epitome of integrity. i am speaking on behalf of majority of Nigerians who know the truth and are not afraid to say it. those who feel this letter is nonsense should not forget to curse, insult and threaten me on @baddestdjtimmy. after my last 2 open letters, i have been insulted, chewed up, spit out, as being very jobless, hopeless and a broke laptop dj. you guys don’t know how much i love the insults so it means i am doing a good job and it makes me stronger. So in conclusion, if u have the opportunity to host another award show, learn from your mistakes and let our votes count this time. Let those who deserve it win, is that too much to ask?

VIDEO : Kelly Hansome & M.I Abaga Squash Beef, Perform together on stage as fans go gaga.

On the 21st of December in Port Harcourt at the 2013 CARNIRIV, history was made. MI was performing his 'BEEF' track when Kelly Hansome stormed the stage with 'Maga Don Pay' and the whole stadium went gaga. This marked the end of the hottest and longest lyrical feud between the two hiphop heavy weights as they both shook hands and made up right there and then setting a good standard for all up and coming talents to follow.

When MI asked Kelly Hansome where he's been and what he's been up to, Kelly dropped a brand new tune 'BABA OLOWO' which is still trending on different popular social network platforms as several Industry heavy weights like Don Jazzy (Mavin Boss), Ace music video director Jude Engenes (Psquare's Manager), MI 'Chairman' Abaga (Loopy Music Boss) and so many reputable blogs and bloggers have endorsed the song. This is a good look for the music industry, no more wars!

"I'm not ready for marriage' - Flavour says in new interview

In a new interview with Vanguard, highlife artist Flavour said he's single and not thinking of marriage
People will always talk and turn around stories. But I am still single because marriage is not my priority for now. I  still want to hit the top before thinking about marriage. It’s not yet time. I am still concentrating on my music.

Flavour also explains how he manages to stays away from controversy/scandal
I try to stay away from trouble. For instance, I don’t even  go to clubs. Any time I want to do something, I do it in the comfort of my house. I party inside my house. I do my  recording inside my house. When you start mingling and partying with everybody in different places that is where one or two things would start to emerge.

I’m either here in my house or in my second house on the Island. When you mingle much with people, at times you start trusting people that are not supposed to be trusted. You start having divided attention. You would take a picture and make joke with it and tomorrow it’s all over the newspapers and internet.

Davido Finally Confirms That “Skelewu” is Spiritual

Davido some days ago tweeted that his song”Skelewu”is spiritual and Juju tins. Coincidentally, something happened to the two music directors who directed the music video

Music video directors Sesan Ogunro and Moe Musa lost their dads.

Sesan’s dad, Sesan Ogunro Snr was shot point blank by armed robbers as he returned from his church’s Christmas Carol with his family – kids and grand kids. He was rushed to the hospital, only to die later on.

Moe Musa’s dad died after a horrific gas explosion in his kitchen, here in Lagos.
Coincidental or related? What exactly is he trying to tell us?

Kanye promises not to say anything negative about anyone for six months

In his latest rant during the last stop of his Yeezus Tour in Toronto on December 23, Kanye promised not to say anything negative about anyone or anything for at least six months...

Everything I'm saying that’s not allowed, soak it in right now. This might be the last time y’all hear me talk s*** for a long time. Might be another like 6 months, at least. You’re just gonna have to run back the interviews and sh*t if you wanna hear some realness!

"I’m gonna tell y’all right now that all of the ideas, what they call the rants the streams of consciousness that I express, I told y’all, save those tapes and everything because I’ve decided to completely focus everything in 2014, on new ideas and on creative outlets. I’m not [going to] ever bring up Nike again, and the only way I’ll bring them up is in a positive light … I’ll never bring up the Grammys again in a negative light, because I actually appreciate the 21 Grammys that I did win.”

"Because I’m not [trying] to be a dude that has all the opportunities in the world and only focuses on the negative, or complains about it, or just gets in some type of zone that just having to turn up all the time and sh*t. So I’m letting you all now that this is the last Yeezus show, and this is the last time you’ll ever hear me say negative about anyone.."
Amen! Hope he means it!

PHOTOS: 26yr old Emeka Rodney wins MTN Young Designer of the Year 2013

26 year old Rodney Emeka, the Creative Director of McMeka, won the MTN Young Designer of the Year competition at the Lagos Fashion and Design Week 2013. He runs McMeka, a Lagos based menswear design label which solely focuses on bespoke tailoring which he founded in Sept. 2011.

The young PH bred designer came up against formidable names like Waneami, Diana aLa Vid (DLV), Ayo Van Elmar, Reni Smith, Ladunni Lambo, Sho by Adesola Obebe, Tumilla by Tumi Ladega, Kenneth Ize and Siaiano who were also shortlisted as finalists for the MTN Young Designer of the Year. However, his hard work and resilience paid off and he was crowned the winner. Continue to see some of his designs....

Tell me a little about yourself. Where are you from? What's your educational background?
My name is Rodney Emeka Igwedinma and the winner of MTN Young Designer of the Year award 2013. I am currently a student of University of Lagos, studying Accounting. I am from Anambra East Local government in Anambra state. I come from a family of seven, of which I happen to be the last born of the house.

My parents are Ebenezer and Monica Igwedinma. My dad is a retired civil servant while my mom is a tailor and we are a happy lot.  Growing up, I schooled in Rivers state, Port Harcourt. I attended the township primary school, Oyibo for my primary education while I went to Government Secondary, Oyibo  for my secondary education. As for my tertiary education, I started out at Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH) Ogbomoso where I was studying Biochemistry. But when I developed my talent as a fashion designer, I had to leave LAUTECH for University of Lagos, UNILAG where I started seeing things happen for me in my career.

Although I spent many years at LAUTECH, I think it was a wise choice moving to UNILAG because it exposed me to a lot of things. I started my career in 2011 after leaving LAUTECH while studying a science based course and was forced to begin my university education afresh in Lagos having gained admission to study Accounting. Interestingly as a kid, I had enjoyed art based classes but due to family pressure I went through school as a science student. My decision to transit to Accountancy was based on my belief that the course would provide the best platform to fulfil my vision as a fashion designer. And it wasn’t hard to switch because I already had a combination of science and arts courses in my O’Level.

How was it competing against other designers who had trained abroad?
I really don’t believe that someone’s background should be a limiting factor in how far one can go. It’s all about what’s inside of you – so I think that was what paved the way for me. During the auditions, I saw a lot of guys come in with swag, and I was challenged, amazed at some of the designs but I wasn’t intimidated. Yea, they came armed with fashion degrees from Paris, UK, Vienna but they didn’t move me.  When I showed my brother what I was up against, we were just laughing. It was like a David and Goliath situation. Most of my friends just wished me all the best. When I made the top ten shortlist, my close friends told me that they won’t shout or celebrate with me and that they only time they would rejoice is when I am crowned winner. This is the extent of belief and confidence which my close pals had in me. This kept me going. I had no fashion qualifications, whether local or international but I believed in my work.

Since you are still in school, what’s your take on the ASUU strike?
The ASUU strike has been a blessing for me. God has a way of doing things.  As a student of UNILAG, if school was in session, it would have been very difficult to find the time to participate in the competition. I was apprehensive when the call time came in because I submitted my application two days before the closing date. Once I got the invite to audition, I began to pray and ask God for his help – make a way for me to win this competition. And so when the strike was announced, I was very happy as it would afford me the chance to compete. While my friends were groaning and complaining, I was thankful. Even when there were rumours of the ending the strike, I prayed that it would happen only after the show was over and I was glad it happened for me.  Making the collection was stressful and it would have been more demanding having to combine preparing for the show with exams looming.  God bless ASUU. (General laughter)

What would have happened if you didn’t win?
It would have been a whole lot of shame for me because I so much believed in myself and prayed very hard for this show. I had the firm conviction that if I was going to do the show, then it would pave the way for me and as God would have it, my fasting and prayer wasn’t in vain.

Did you get funding to start this business?
I started this business with ten thousand naira and I wasn’t funded by anybody. The first order to design a dress cost me ten thousand naira which was the first capital for my business. I sent the dress over to a dude in Abuja who placed the order and till tomorrow, I still haven’t been paid. It was a painful experience and so I had to start all over again. I made and still make a lot of sacrifices coupled with hard work.

What is the best advice you have ever received?
My dad used to tell me that the ants usually gather their food during summer and then in winter, all they do is sit down, enjoy and eat. While staying with my uncle, he would say to me every morning that you must follow the early morning moon wherever it goes, follow it. When the time comes for you to enjoy, you will. My victory has inspired a lot of my friends.

What would you do with the 4million naira from MTN?
Well the money is not for Rodney Emeka. It belongs to McMeka. It would be devoted to pushing the brand.
What is the story behind your brand name, McMeka?
Well my name is Rodney Emeka, so it was derived from my native name. Mc gives it the British feel.

Are you married?
No. I am twenty six years old and happily single.

Has your boyfriend or girlfriend played any role in all of this?
Laughs. Girlfriend please. Well, she always encourages me to keep my dream alive and she is very understanding with my busy schedules. She is very patient and inspires me a lot. We are two different people who understand ourselves. We have been through so many things together and she knows what I’m capable of.

Is she into fashion and design?
She likes fashion but she doesn’t design. She is among my closest allies who are my backbone of support and pillar of strength. When I was growing up, my mom would usually call me to come and examine her looks. I would check her out and say mom I don’t like this. She is that kind of person who I can call on.

What would you say about the MTN Young Designer of the Year Award?
I think the initiative is a good one. I so much appreciate the fact that the organisers of the LFDW are working so hard to bring out young talents in Nigeria’s fashion space. They are giving young talents a voice. Josh, who won last year is doing well. McMeka will also do well.

If we walk into your wardrobe, what are we likely to find more?
Something that has the highest number in my wardrobe will be… Shirts! Shirts! Shirts!

Are you a jewelry person, like blings, chain or even wristwatches?
No. I love the minimalistic approach to my dress sense.

What fashion item do you love so much that you will love to have no matter how expensive?
That will be shoes and more shoes.

What are your favourite colours?
I love colours like burgundy, orange and grey

Which car is your dream car?
Mercedes Benz G wagon.

What is your favourite food?
I love pounded yam and nsala soup of 10 lives.

Justin Bieber confirms he's officially retiring from music

Don't know if he's serious or not, but the troubled teen singer took to twitter on Christmas eve to announce to his 47 million followers that he's retiring from music...at age 19, and after only 3 albums and 4 years of singing professionally. He also said the media 'make up a lot of lies' about him.

He made the announcement on Twitter just a week after he told a radio station that he planned to quit music. "After the new album, I'm actually retiring, man. I'm retiring," he told Power 106 on Dec 17.
