PHOTOS : World's most wanted drug trafficker & Forbes billionaire finally captured with a woman after 12 years
He has been on the run for more than 12 years but a moment of passion appears to have been the downfall for the world's most wanted drug lord.
Joaquin 'El Chapo' Guzman, described as the most powerful drug trafficker in the world, was arrested in a beach condominium on Saturday with help from U.S. agencies in a major victory for the government in a long, grisly war.
Guzman, known as “El Chapo” (Shorty) in Spanish, has long run Mexico’s infamous Sinaloa Cartel and over the past decade he emerged as one of the world’s most powerful organized crime bosses, even making it onto Forbes’ list of billionaires and listed as one of the world's richest men..
When Mexican marines burst into the apartment he was staying in at 6.40am the discovered Guzman with an unidentified woman.Guzman, also known as Shorty, was photographed being escorted by troops through Mexico City airport later in the day.
No shots were fired as troops burst in on the 56-year-old drug lord in Mazatlan, and he was arrested along with three men believed to be his bodyguards.A team of 25 marines entered the complex on Saturday morning, overpowering two security teams installed to protect the drug kingpin.
Guzman faces drug trafficking and other charges, and is wanted in at least six U.S. districts, as well as Mexico.
Despite being wanted in two countries, Guzman had evaded capture for more than 12 years, but in the end his complacency led to his downfall, a former DEA official said.
The suspected drug lord is believed to lead a cartel with revenues estimated at more than $3 billion a year, and he has been ranked as one of the riches men in the world by Forbes for several years.
'He got tired of living up in the mountains and not being able to enjoy the comforts of his wealth,'
His cartel has been heavily involved in the bloody drug war that has torn through parts of Mexico for the last several years
Despite being a billionaire, Guzman was found in a relatively basic apartment. Photos of the condominium taken after the raid, show bed sheets ripped off a mattress, yellowing kitchen cabinets and uninviting tiled floors.
In the kitchen, what appears to be a pancake can be seen left in a frying pan, and a pile of fruit and vegetables has been left in a cheap plastic container.
Guzman’s cartel has smuggled billions of dollars worth of cocaine, marijuana and methamphetamines into the United States, and fought vicious turf wars with other Mexican gangs.
He pioneered the use of sophisticated underground tunnels to smuggle drug shipments across the border and also became a major narcotics exporter to Europe and Asia in recent years.

Dear A9 readers: I hate the way my girlfriend dresses...
I so much hate the way my girlfriend dresses. I've complained over and over again but it seems I'm not getting through to her. She doesn't think a woman can be sexy without showing body parts. Her clothes are skimpy, trashy and disgusting. They are all either too short, too tight, breast on display, her favourite are transparent clothes. Those kinds of clothes are fine if you're standing on the streets but not when you are going out with your man. I get very uncomfortable when we go out. She likes all the attention she gets from people when we go out but I am embarrassed. I do not want to be seen in public with a girl dressed that way but because I care a lot about her I still haven't broken up with her. What can I do about this lady? I really want her in my life. Minus the dressing, everything else about her is perfect. My kind of woman. Please advise.

Men Just Want To Get Between My Legs-- Biola Ige
Nollywood Actress, Biola Ige, says she has realised that most men simply want to make love with her and move on.
Speaking about her relationship status, she said, ‘I am not dating now. I have grown over the years and realised that most men want to just get in-between your legs.’
She added that she is content being without any male partner, saying, ‘I have chosen to be on my own and remain focused. If the right man comes and he is truly ready to date and not just to have fun, I will have a rethink.’
The actress also said she is not sure if there’s an ideal man. ‘Is there even an ideal man really? If I say this person is my ideal man and the person does not like you, what will you do?’

Actress Yvonne Jegede:Don’t Blame Me for Having Big B00bs
Yvonne Jegede share some intimate stuffs with Vanguard in a frank chat. below is a brief excerpt…
You have a penchant for revealing parts of your body, like your b00bs. What happened today?
Well, it depends on the clothes. I have big b00bs, so, if the clothes are not big enough to cover my b00bs you would not blame me for that. I am not the person who made my clothes . I just put the clothes on.
What does love mean to you?
I am a lover of love. I love to love. I love to be emotional. Love is something that I appreciate. Trust me, I’m a good lover. I love my fans, my folks, I love the people that matters to me. I love to have people around me.
Is it true that you dated 2face?
I didn’t date 2face. I only featured in his “African Queen” video. I have never kissed him before.
What is an ideal man to you?
I don’t even know what it is any more. But I think people at different ages have different perspective in respect of what an ideal man is. He should be more intelligent than myself. I need somebody I can learn from him. He should also be able to take care of himself. That’s an ideal man for me. He should not be ugly.
Which part of you body do you think is your selling point?
I think it is my brain. Talking about the physical things that attracts men to me, it depends. Some people say, it’s my eyes, others prefer my lips and my b00bs. So, I do not know. When I love into the mirror, I love everything about myself.
Are you not planning to get married?
When the time comes, I will get married. I have never given it a thought. It’s not about thinking, it is about the right person coming my way. Many ladies have been thinking about settling down for years now, but Mr. right has not come their way.
You are saying that Mr. right has not come your way?
Let’s take it like that. I don’t even have any relationship right now.
Why is it that most actresses do not want to get married?
How do you mean? Do you think that a lady would decide to remain single. As a woman, she still needs a man. If you do not have a man in your life, it is so bad. She can never be a happy woman

Ukrainian Lawmakers Remove President Yanukovych
Ukrainian members of parliament Saturday voted to oust President Viktor Yanukovych and hold early presidential elections on May 25. The vote came after police stopped guarding presidential buildings, allowing protesters to walk unchallenged into the president’s office and residential compounds, according to the BBC.
Yanukovych said it was a “coup” and vowed not to stand down. He compared the actions of the opposition to the rise to power of the Nazis in 1930s Germany and claimed MPs from his party had been “beaten, pelted with stones and intimidated”. The opposition is now in effective control of the capital Kiev, with Yanukovych in Kharkiv, near the Russian border, after travelling there late on Friday night.
The Interfax news agency reported parliament speaker Oleksandr Turchynov as saying Yanukovych had been stopped by border police in an attempt to flee to Russia and was now somewhere in the Donetsk region.
A pact signed on Friday by Yanukovych and opposition leaders now seems to have been overtaken by events. The deal followed several days of violence in which dozens of people died in a police crackdown on months of protest. It called for the restoration of the 2004 constitution and the formation of a national unity government. The agreement failed to end the protests overnight with huge crowds calling for Yanukovych’s resignation.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said the deal had been “sharply degraded by opposition forces’ inability or lack of desire” to respect it and accused “illegal extremist groups” of taking control of Kiev, Reuters reports.
The protests first erupted in late November when President Yanukovych rejected a landmark association and trade deal with the EU in favour of closer ties with Russia.
In a related development, prominent opposition leader and former Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko was yesterday also released from detention, hours after MPs authorised the move.
Tymoshenko was seen driven away in a car after leaving a hospital in the eastern city of Kharkiv, where she had been held under prison guard. MPs had voted to pave the way for her release on Friday. She was sentenced to seven years in prison in 2011 after being convicted of abuse of power over her actions during her tenure as prime minister. Her supporters have always maintained this was simply Yanukovych taking out his most prominent opponent, and her release has always been a key demand of the protest movement.
Tymoshenko was later hailed by thousands of opposition supporters at a rally in central Kiev after being freed from detention. She has suffered from a back injury and addressed them from her wheelchair.
“You are heroes,” she told the crowd on Independence Square, the focus of protests against Yanukovych, and broke down in tears. The speech came at the end of a dramatic day, with the president fleeing Kiev but refusing to quit.
“Until you finish this job and until we travel all the way, nobody has the right to leave,” she said. “Because nobody could do it – not other countries, nobody – could do what you have done. We’ve eliminated this cancer, this tumour.”
But while she received large cheers from many in the audience, she does not enjoy universal support among the opposition. Before she went into prison, her popularity ratings were dropping and many Ukrainians blame her in part for the chaos of the post-Orange Revolution years, or see her as a member of Ukraine’s corrupt elite.
Dozens of people walked away in disgust when she appeared on the stage, shouting that she did not represent them, the BBC’s Tim Wilcox in Independence Square reports.

Addressing a news conference at the Emir’s palace on Saturday, a family member, Hajia Binta Sanusi, said that the suspension was “an honour done to their son who served his country truthfully and was later rewarded with mischievous allegations”.
The women, comprising mothers, sisters and in-laws of the suspended apex bank governor, seemed happy even when some Nigerians have condemned the suspension.
They said there was no course for alarm, as Sanusi had proved to be trust worthy, having transformed the Nigerian economy in five years.
